Skillfully using Photoshop, Tadao Cern has brought a portrait of Vincent van Gogh to life.

V incent van Gogh's intense self-portrait transforms from a colorful oil painting into an intense stare-down, thanks to photographer Tadao Cern.

According to the tounge-in-cheek Cern, a long time ago a stranger asked him to make his portrait. He sent him the image and I never heard back from him. Then he saw one painting and I felt that it was very familiar.

All it took was a bit of Photoshop to morph the 1889 painting into a really intense photographic portrait. —
